We noticed that the most recent batch of Powercon connectors from Neutrik were harder to attach the rear bushing and also harder to unscrew that bushing in order to inspect the interior of the connector. We could do it by hand, but it really took a strong grip.
It turns out that we weren’t imagining things or just getting weaker.
A close examination of Neutrik’s instruction document for asseimbling the NAC3 connectors actually calls for a wrench to be used when tightening and later loosening the threaded rear bushing.
The Neutrik instructions refernece using a 7/8 ” open wrench and even include a incon for the wrench right on the instruction sheet.
